I always eagerly await the fig season 🤗 Each time I’m equally enchanted by these beautiful, sweet spheres… Most of the time, I use them in salads or with meat dishes they pair well with. Of course, I also make sandwiches or croutons out of them, small enough for two or three bites 😋 Today’s suggestion is crispy roasted figs. Today’s offering consists of crispy toasts, spread with a thick layer of velvety goat cheese, topped with slices of juicy figs, chopped walnuts, a hint of herbs, and drizzled with liquid golden honey… Foodgasm guaranteed 😉

Toast with figs, goat's cheese and honey
Ingredients
4 slices of your favorite bread
A little butter
About 50 g of goat cheese spread
2 ripe figs
2 teaspoons of chopped nuts (I used walnuts)
Honey for drizzling
Thyme or other fresh herbs for serving
3 tablespoons of chopped walnuts
Directions
- Place arugula on a plate and arrange quartered figs, slices of Black Forest ham, and diced blue cheese on top
- Sprinkle the top with walnuts.
- DRESSING: In a glass, mix honey, mustard, and lemon juice, then add olive oil or vegetable oil while stirring constantly. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the dressing over the salad.
