When it comes to simplicity and speed of making, this cake is second to none – it’s the most delicious cake with strawberries I’ve ever had!🍓❤ It even comes out ahead of the equally simple and delicious Yogurt Cake (KLIK). No mixer needed here, just mix the dry ingredients with the wet ones, add the strawberries and wait a little over half an hour until a soft, moist, fragrant cake with juicy fruits pops out of the oven…. I found the recipe snooping around in my Mom’s recipes and stole it as my own 😁.
The cake stays perfectly fresh the next day as well, and I give my hand a slash that you will bake it many more times during the strawberry season! 🙈 There’s no denying it – the cake disappears from the table at an alarming rate and it’s hard to stop at …. A FEW pieces 😂

Ingredients
—DRY INGREDIENTS:
2 and 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar

—WET INGREDIENTS (at room temperature):
2 large eggs (size L)
1/2 cup melted and cooled butter
1 cup heavy cream
1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract

—ADDITIONALLY:
220g strawberries, halved
120g strawberries, sliced thick
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a 24 x 24 cm baking pan with butter and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Set aside 1/3 cup of flour (it will be useful later) and mix the remaining 2 cups with all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix all the wet ingredients. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix everything briefly but thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
- Add the reserved 1/3 cup of flour to the halved strawberries and coat them with it. Then, add the strawberries to the batter and mix everything thoroughly again. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread the strawberry slices on top.
- Bake the cake for 35-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the cake starts to brown too much towards the end of baking, cover it with a piece of aluminum foil. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool.
