If you’re looking for the best, absolutely reliable, and perfect banana bread recipe, you’re in the right place! Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a delicious, soft, moist, and fragrant banana bread with you, which you can prepare in no time, without using a mixer and without dirtying many dishes. All you need is a bowl and a fork to mash the bananas. Sometimes, I also mash them with a potato masher 😉 Seriously, it takes about 3 seconds and a few hand movements.
I bake sometimes this bread twice a week; my children love it and always eat it while it’s still warm. However, it tastes excellent both cold and warm. You can also toast the banana bread in a toaster; it tastes just as fantastic! The banana flavor is even more intense then.
Banana bread always turns out well; you simply have to bake it for about an hour until towards the end of baking, an inserted stick comes out dry. I’m sure that once you try it, you will keep the recipe forever… 🥰

Banana bread (the best, super easy and quick recipe!)
Ingredients
1 cup = 250 ml
4 very ripe bananas*
0.5 cup sugar
0.5 cup melted butter
1 egg
1.75 cups wholemeal wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
a pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (can be omitted or you can use cream or vanilla flavouring)
* Sometimes if I don’t have 4 bananas, I add 3 bananas and that’s fine too. .
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees C. Peel the bananas, place in a bowl and mash with a fork or potato masher to a pulp (it doesn’t have to be exact).
- Melt the butter in a pan and add to the mashed bananas.
- Add the sugar, egg and vanilla. Sprinkle in the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon (a mixer is not necessary here).
- Grease a cake tin with oil and pour in the batter. Use a spatula to flatten the batter. Place in the oven and bake for approx. 60 minutes until a skewer inserted comes out dry. Remove the cake from the oven and leave to cool.
Enjoy!
